One podcast hour in Bali ranges from Rp600,000 at the cheapest studio to Rp3,800,000 at the most expensive, within a 40-minute drive. This significant price difference – six times higher at the most expensive studio – offers little insight into the quality of services provided. On 7 September 2026, we examined the public price lists and Google Maps entries of 10 podcast studios in Bali, comparing their areas, hourly rates, camera availability, soundproofing, and the inclusion of a camera operator.
Villo Studio is one of the 10. We run a podcast and video studio in Canggu (Berawa), so read our row with that in mind. Everything else in the table comes from the studios’ own websites or their Google Maps listings. Where a studio publishes no price, the table says “on request” instead of a guess.
How much a podcast studio hour costs in Bali (September 2026)
Published podcast studio rates in Bali begin at Rp600,000 per hour and can go up to Rp3,800,000 for the initial hour, with the majority of studios in Canggu and Pererenan charging between Rp745,000 and Rp1,650,000. Prices were collected from each studio’s website or Google Maps listing on 7 September 2026 and may vary without notice. The “2h, 3 cameras, with crew” column represents the advertised total for a two-hour, three-camera session with an operator, which is the most frequent booking type; “on request” indicates that the studio does not publish sufficient information to calculate this price. “Not stated” means the studio does not disclose this detail, not that it lacks the feature.
Which Bali podcast studios include a camera operator
Five of the 10 studios in this list state that an operator or technician comes with the booking: Villo Studio, VoxPop, Sokkool, Hype Hunters and Studio42. Genesis Creative Centre lists a studio assistant as a paid add-on on top of its Rp950,000 base rate. The other four do not say either way on their public pages. For a first-time podcaster this is the single most expensive line to get wrong, because a self-shoot booking means you frame three cameras, set audio levels and watch the recording light yourself while trying to hold a conversation. Ask this question before you compare hourly rates.
Where the podcast studios are: Canggu, Pererenan, Tibubeneng, Kuta, Ubud, Uluwatu
Seven of the 10 studios sit within the Canggu, Pererenan and Tibubeneng triangle in North Kuta, which is also where most expat creators live. Villo Studio, Proper Sounds and House of Yoreh are in Canggu itself. VoxPop, Genesis and Creators Studio are in Pererenan, ten minutes west. Sokkool is in Tibubeneng, on the Berawa side. The remaining three are spread out: Hype Hunters in Kuta near Seminyak, Studio42 in Ubud, and Hot Tea Studio in Ungasan on the Bukit peninsula near Uluwatu. If you host guests who fly in, Kuta is the closest cluster to the airport, Canggu and Pererenan come next, and Ubud and Uluwatu are the longest drives.

What a “from” price hides: first hour, minimum hours and add-ons
A “from Rp600,000 per hour” headline and a “Rp2,000,000 for two hours” package may appear to have the same cost for a typical 90-minute episode after factoring in minimum booking fees and crew. Villo Studio, for instance, charges Rp1,250,000 for the first hour with one camera, and each subsequent hour at Rp900,000, making a two-hour session total Rp2,150,000 with an operator. Sokkool’s two-hour minimum starts at Rp2,000,000 and includes a technician on APS-C cameras. Genesis charges Rp950,000 just for the room, and additional costs for an assistant and extra cameras are not included in the headline, so the actual cost for a three-camera setup is higher and not published. Always ensure you account for the full session length and crew costs before comparing studios based on the lowest quoted price.
Three details change the final bill more than the hourly rate. First, minimum booking: Villo Studio’s studio-only rental starts at Rp600,000 per hour but requires two hours, and Sokkool starts at two hours for its full package. Second, camera count: at VoxPop the step from one to three cameras doubles the hourly rate, from Rp745,000 to Rp1,495,000. Third, editing: none of the published hourly rates on this list include a finished edit, so budget that separately or check the studio’s editing page.
How Villo Studio compares on this list
Villo Studio has the lowest published all-in price for a two-hour, three-camera podcast session with a crew among the Canggu and Pererenan studios that use full-frame or cinema-line cameras: Rp2,950,000, against Rp2,990,000 at VoxPop and Rp5,400,000 at Hype Hunters, with Genesis unable to be totalled because its cameras and assistant are priced on request. Every Villo Studio hourly rate already includes the operator, 4K Sony FX30 cameras, podcast microphones and the Godox lighting kit, so the number on the full price list is the number on the invoice. Minimum booking is one hour, not two. Between June 2024 and May 2026 the studio handled 1,138 bookings, and 37% of clients came back for a second session, which is the figure we would show a podcaster choosing where to record a weekly show.
Three things in this table exist only in the Villo Studio row. The team operates in English, Russian, and Indonesian, which is beneficial for shows featuring guests from multiple markets. Podcasters can book a package for 3, 5, 7, or 14 days to record an entire season in one trip, while the other nine studios offer hourly and per-session rates only. Additionally, the self-shoot tier at Rp600,000 per hour allows a solo host to use the same room, sets, and lighting without hiring a crew. For more details, see the podcast studio in Bali page.
How to choose a podcast studio in Bali in 10 minutes
Pick the studio by responding to these four questions in sequence: how many cameras your show requires, whether you need a crew, the duration of a real episode including setup, and the distance your guests will travel. Next, inquire about the total cost for the specified session from each shortlisted studio, not just the hourly rate. For a two-person interview show using three cameras, the published totals for a two-hour session vary from approximately Rp2,000,000 (Sokkool) to Rp5,400,000 (Hype Hunters), with Villo Studio at Rp2,950,000 inclusive of the operator. Our longer guide on how to choose a podcast studio in Bali delves deeper into audio setups and guest logistics.
Visit before you book if you can. Villo Studio offers a free studio visit, and a 15-minute walk-through tells you more about noise, light and seating than any table. Bring your microphone preference and the episode length, and ask to see the actual room you would record in.
